Different Types Of Pantyhose

Pantyhose are a specific type of hosiery that runs from the toes to the waistline. At the waistline there is an elastic band to keep the pantyhose from falling down, which is of course a necessity. Pantyhose fetishism is a common and fairly innocuous manifestation of sexual fetish, often appearing at a young age and continuing through adulthood. However, there are multiple variations to pantyhose that sometimes interest different people.
First I should mention that there are pantyhose, or what you would consider pantyhose, that don’t actually fit the above description. These would be body stockings, a full body covering usually made from nylon that covers a woman’s entire body. Typically, the feet are covered and the stocking runs all the way up to the neck and covers the arms. There is usually a scoopneck or v-neck design that allows for low cut shirts or dresses. A body stocking is typically used to provide extra warmth for women living in colder climates and to smooth out unattractive lines under clothing. Typically this is used by older women who have a little extra weight. However, there is also a large market for body stocking styled lingerie and you’ll find some very sexy examples in a typical lingerie store. Usually these body stockings are adorned with more lace and more intricate design in the stocking itself, but they’re functionally the same. Fetishists love the body stocking because it is simply a natural extension of pantyhose, covering the entire body in the soft feeling of the hose.

When it comes to pantyhose the chief differences between various pair lies in the fabric choice, the denier (or sheerness), and the design. Pantyhose are almost always made of a nylon/spandex mix, but you can also find pairs made from pure silk, pure spandex, or lace. The silk pantyhose are much softer and often the top choice of a fetishist because of that softness, but some people have an attachment to the nylon because of the way in which their fetish was formed. However, lace pantyhose tend to be sexier than all other versions some fetishists prefer these. The sheerness of a pair of pantyhose is given a number rating, ranging anywhere from 3 to 70. The lower the number, the more sheer pantyhose are, with those rated at 3 barely being visible on a woman’s leg. A pair with a rating of 70 will not even allow the leg to be seen. Fetishists tend to prefer somewhere in the range of 15-30 because they don’t want the material to rip (like a 3 would) but they also like to be able to see the legs and feet since they are an active part of the fetish. Lastly, they come in either seamed or seamless pantyhose versions. It’s not entirely clear why someone would prefer one over the other and this is probably a very personal thing.
