Women And Pantyhose
In 1959 Allen Grant Sr. of Glen Raven Mills introduced pantyhose to the masses and within a decade they had replaced stockings as the hosiery of choice for women who wore skirts. This largely came about with the rise in popularity of the mini skirt which made it unfashionable to wear stockings because the tops of the stockings would show when wearing stockings. Even nowadays that’s only something you see in hookers, strippers, and wives trying to turn their husbands on in the bedroom.
Pantyhose were, and still are, used to cover a woman’s legs when she is wearing a skirt or dress. From the time when they were invented until the late 80s pantyhose were very popular; you’d find them on almost any woman who wore a skirt or dress. Nowadays, pantyhose are seen less frequently and they tend to appear in a few specific situations. First, you will almost always see pantyhose on women in the corporate world. A quality skirt suit just doesn’t look right if there isn’t a pair of pantyhose to go with it. In fact, it’s somewhat unprofessional not to wear pantyhose with a business suit. The second instance in which pantyhose are common is during the winter in colder places up north. If a woman is going to wear a dress out during the cold months she needs some protection for her legs. Outside of leg warmers, which look pretty silly with a dress, pantyhose are the only option available. However, despite the thinness of the material with which they are made pantyhose provide a surprising amount of warmth when compared to wearing nothing. Following this same logic you’ll rarely see women outside of the business world wearing pantyhose in a place like Miami or Los Angeles.
There are also some women who wear pantyhose because they are married to or involved with a man who has a pantyhose fetish. Some men have a hard time being intimate with someone who isn’t dressed in pantyhose so these women give in to the whims of their significant others and dress in them for even the most innocuous of occasions. Occurrences like this are probably fairly rare but there is no accurate data on the number of pantyhose fetishists in the world, let alone how many have partners that are willing to participate in the fetish.
